The Saudi Investment Bank was established as a Saudi joint-stock company pursuant to Royal Decree No. M/31 dated 25 Jumada Al-Thani 1396H in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and commenced operations in March 1977.

The bank is supported by a group of affiliated companies, including American Express Saudi Arabia, Saudi Orix Leasing Company, and Amlak Global Finance. As of 2019, the bank operated a network of 52 branches across the Kingdom, including 10 branches dedicated to women.

The Saudi Investment Bank plays an active role in financing quasi-governmental entities, industrial sectors, and trade finance activities, including import and export operations.
