King Fahad Hospital- Dammam

King Fahad Specialist Hospital in Dammam (KFSHD) is a major healthcare project serving families in the Eastern Region. Despite its relatively recent establishment, the hospital has rapidly expanded the scope and quality of its specialist medical services, supported by highly qualified staff, advanced techniques and high standards of care.

Specialties and Medical Services

• Oncology, organ transplantation, neurosciences, cardiac services programs and genetic sciences.
• Hematology, rehabilitation, neurological surgery, surgical oncology, nuclear medicine, radiation therapy, orthopaedic surgery and urology, alongside other specialties.
• Adult and pediatric stem cell transplantation: more than 130 procedures were successfully completed by the end of 2014. The hospital was the only Ministry of Health center providing this type of care.
• The Kingdom’s only pancreas transplantation program, alongside kidney and liver transplantation.

Quality and Accreditation

The hospital applies international standards to maintain and improve service quality. It earned Joint Commission International Accreditation (JCIA), becoming the first specialized Ministry of Health hospital to receive this accreditation.

Its Laboratory and Hematology Department also received accreditation from the College of American Pathologists (CAP).
