Abha Maternity and Children Hospital has obtained accreditation of the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCHS) as training center for Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) Fellowship, after the hospital has passed all requirements and criteria set by the SCHS for fellowship programs.

Such recognition reflects the efforts exerted by the hospital to promote fellowship programs in medical specialties and to support scientific programs in order to raise the efficiency of physicians and benefit from the outputs of these programs for developing medical staff.

It is noteworthy that the hospital is reckoned one of the first hospitals that have been accredited in in the specialization of obstetrics and gynecology and newborns. The number of doctors enrolled in the obstetrics and gynecology program amounted to 129 and those enrolled in the pediatric program 34 doctors.
