Established on June 2, 2018, by Royal Order A/217 and led by His Highness Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Farhan Al Saud as the Kingdom’s inaugural Minister of Culture, its mission is to preserve Saudi Arabia’s historical legacy while fostering a culturally vibrant future that promotes art and heritage.

Aligned with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 transformation agenda, the Ministry aims to contribute to the nation’s growth and prosperity. It officially launched on March 27, 2019, unveiling its cultural vision which emphasizes integrating culture into daily life, leveraging it for economic growth, and fostering global cultural exchange opportunities.

Under the guidance of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and His Royal Highness Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Ministry is poised to enhance Saudi culture. The Kingdom takes pride in its rich heritage and diverse traditions spanning 13 regions. Saudi creatives are integral to this cultural sphere, celebrated for their talents and recognized globally. The Ministry is committed to nurturing creativity, supporting new expressions, and ensuring that Saudi culture continues to thrive both domestically and internationally.
