The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah (MHU) is a government entity in Saudi Arabia responsible for ensuring the provision of essential services to pilgrims coming for Hajj and Umrah. This includes overseeing their safe transportation and movement to the holy cities of Mecca and Medina. The ministry coordinates between various sectors involved in Hajj and Umrah operations and liaises with Hajj-related agencies in Muslim countries and globally. Additionally, the MHU develops plans, implements, and supervises services provided to pilgrims and visitors of the Two Holy Mosques.

In alignment with the strategic goals of Vision 2030, the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has launched several initiatives. These include establishing an electronic control center and system to provide a control panel for cooperative governmental agencies and introducing the Hajj pilgrims’ e-bracelet program, which stores pilgrims’ information and aids in providing necessary support.

The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah coordinates with governmental and private agencies to facilitate the rituals, regulate and legalize services by developing systems, employing technology, enhancing the efficiency of workers serving the pilgrims, and improving infrastructure to provide religious hospitality that meets international standards.
