The Edge of the World (Jebel Fihrayn) is a section of the Tuwaiq escarpment where the plateau ends in vertical cliffs, revealing a vast plain that stretches to the horizon.
The last stretch of the route is an unpaved desert track, so most visitors go with a 4x4 or a licensed tour. Trails along the rim lead to several viewpoints; there are no railings, so keep a safe distance from the edge.
Visitor tips
- Go in the cooler months; summer heat makes the hike dangerous.
- Carry plenty of water and download offline maps.
- Plan to leave before dark — the track is hard to follow at night.
