Souq Al-Zal is one of Riyadh's oldest markets, in the historic Al-Dirah district. Its alleys are lined with shops selling carpets, bisht cloaks, oud and incense, perfumes, antiques, swords and traditional brass coffee pots (dallah).
The market is liveliest in the evening, and an informal auction of antiques and second-hand goods often takes place in its open area. Bargaining is normal.
Visitor tips
- Visit after Maghrib prayer, when most shops are open.
- Bring cash for small purchases.
- Shops close briefly during prayer times.
